Auburn Woman Arrested in $3,000 Vehicle Theft Case

SHARE NOW

Auburn police have arrested a woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of items from a vehicle outside the UPS Store on Genesee Street earlier this fall.

Officers were called to 144 Genesee Street on October 5 for a report of a larceny from a vehicle. Police say the victim reported that roughly $3,000 in property had been taken.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from nearby businesses and identified a suspect. Officers recognized the woman from prior interactions, and she was identified as Itasha Williams.

Police requested an arrest warrant, which Auburn City Court granted. Williams was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with felony grand larceny.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
