On Saturday, officers with the Auburn Police Department arrested an Auburn man following a domestic dispute investigation on Orchard Street.
At approximately 4:31 a.m. on May 30, officers responded to a residence where a victim reported she had been involved in a physical domestic altercation with Gabriel Davis, 56. Davis allegedly struck the victim in the back of her head three to four times with a glass candle, causing significant pain and a large bump. The victim also sustained candle wax on her arm and shirt from the assault.
Following a further investigation, Davis was taken into custody and charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a felony.
Davis was processed at the Auburn Police Department headquarters and subsequently transported to the Cayuga County Jail for a centralized arraignment.
