Arrest Made in Ithaca Homicide

A 25-year-old Ithaca man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Edward Warren, a 54-year-old city resident.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, Autreyu Massaline was taken into custody around 10 p.m. on Saturday by members of the department’s Investigations Division and the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit. He has been charged with second-degree murder, a Class A-1 felony.

Massaline was arraigned before Ithaca City Court Judge Richard Wallace and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.

The arrest follows a stabbing incident last Thursday night. Officers responded to a 911 call around 8:30 p.m. and found Warren at the scene being assisted by bystanders. Emergency crews from Bangs Ambulance provided immediate care, and Warren was later airlifted to a regional trauma center. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.

The case remains an active homicide investigation.
