Janet Kaye Ward

Janet Kaye (Harner) Ward, 83, of Ithaca, NY, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on December 21, 1942, in Gowanda, NY, she was the daughter of Gerald and Louise (Robinson) English. She worked as a secretary at Hi-Speed Check Weigher for 23 years. Outside of work, Janet enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family.

She married William F. Ward on June 7, 1986, in Ithaca, NY. They shared 40 years of marriage together. Janet will be remembered for her hard work ethic, strong personality, and her infectious laugh.

She is survived by her husband, William F. Ward, and her children, Deborah (Clifford King), Kathleen (Darryle Lee), and Robert Harner (Jill Townsend), and seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A private memorial service will be held at Frear Memorial Cemetery for the family on Friday, June 19, 2026.
