Harry E. "Pete" Cox

Canandaigua – Harry E. “Pete” Cox, age 83, passed away at home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, while surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Cox; daughter, Renee (Robert) O’Dell; two grandchildren, Steven Nagel and Jessica Nagel (fiancé, Logan Kneut); two brothers, Patrick (Rochelle) Cox and Russell Cox; cousin, Ben (Patsy) Cox; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings, Samuel Cox, Sara Peterson, and Flora Cox.

Harry was born in Rochester, PA, and was the son of Samuel and Esther (King) Cox. He grew up in Aliquippa, PA, and graduated from Aliquippa High School. Harry worked as a carpenter for several years until joining the US Postal Service, where he worked for over 30 years in Rochester and Canandaigua. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding, and woodworking. Harry was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Canandaigua and formerly active in Boy Scouts of America.

Friends may call Thursday, July 9, from 5-7 PM, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main Street, Canandaigua. His funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, at 11 AM, at the First United Methodist Church, 100 North Main Street, Canandaigua. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
