A Virginia man has been convicted of last year’s bank robbery in the City of Auburn.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office has announced 45-year old Johann Bass pled guilty Monday to the robbery charge just before jury selection commenced.
On January 12, 2022, Bass entered the Key Bank on Genesee Street and showed a note to the teller stating he had a gun before stealing 700 dollars and fleeing the scene. He was stopped and arrested by State Troopers approximately one hour later in the Village of Aurora along with 33-year old Elizabeth Yoensky.
Bass faces 28 months to seven years in prison when he is sentenced in April.
