As students celebrate a week off from school for winter break, those at one Cayuga County elementary school have been given a special treat by their local libraries.
The Hazard and Aurora Libraries are partnering to give students at Emily Howland Elementary free books before school breaks. Hazard Library Director Lisa Semenza says it’s about creating a love of reading for students.
Funding for the books comes from the Tompkins Community Foundation’s Rosen Library Fund.
