State Senator Rachel was at Auburn’s City Council meeting Thursday night for her ceremonial swearing in as the senator for New York’s 48th senate district.
Mayor Quill administered the oath of office.
Senator May said she’s excited to represent the entirety of the county.
Mayor Quill spoke on behalf of City Council, thanking her for thinking of Auburn.
The senator added that, while from Syracuse, she plans to spend as much time as possible in the Auburn area.
Senator May previously represented New York’s 53rd Senate District before redistricting led to her running in and winning the 48th district which is composed of Cayuga County and parts of Onondaga County.
