Music students at Auburn High School are in for a treat.
Emmy award winning composer and original member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mark Wood, is bringing his music education program to the school’s band, chorus, and orchestra.
The Electrify Your Symphony program will work with the school’s orchestra director to create a rock orchestra make over to inspire students to reach their full musical potential.
Wood’s wife, Laura Kaye – who has worked with James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Sean Lennon, will work the choir.
“The Auburn Music Boosters, the High School Music Department and the Auburn Enlarged City School District are thrilled to be able to provide our students with this amazing musical opportunity,” said Allison Fennessy, teacher and President of the Auburn Music Boosters.
The program will end with a public concert on March 14, with proceeds benefitting music education.
