Students from multiple schools will head to Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES in Auburn this weekend for a LEGO building competition.
Saturday will see the school hold its FIRST LEGO League competition – a contest designed to inspire youth with hands on science, technology, engineering, and math learning.
The students in grades 5-8 will build and code LEGO robots that are capable of completing tasks and solving problems. They are then judged on their designs and teamwork.
The top five teams will then compete at the state level in Buffalo where they will vie for a chance to compete at the international level.
18 teams will compete Saturday, including three each from Auburn, Jordan-Elbridge, Port Byron, and McQuaid Jesuit in Rochester
The competition is open to the public and begins at 12:30p.
