120 Genesee Street, Auburn

The public response was positive at Auburn’s City Council meeting Thursday.

The city held a public hearing about whether or not it should seek funding from the state to revitalize the old Alco/Bombardier property on Orchard Street and 120 Genesee Street, the former Chemung Canal Trust Company Site.

Kaitlyn Rosenkrans, owner of Rosenkrans Local Meat Market across the street from Bombardier, spoke at the hearing.

Auburn is seeking 10-million dollars for the Osborne Street location and 2-million dollars for the Genesee Street site. The funding would come from Empire State Development through the Restore NY Initiative.

The full public hearing can be viewed on the city’s website.
