Two resolutions were passed by Auburn City Council Thursday calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to act on protecting the health of Owasco Lake.
The first resolution called on the governor to adopt and implement a Total Maximum Daily Load – a maximum amount of pollutants allowed to enter a waterbody so that the waterbody will meet water quality standards – for Owasco Lake.
The second resolution called for both the governor and state legislature to expedite the approval of the Owasco Lake Watershed Rules and regulations.

After passing, copies of both resolutions were hand delivered to State Senator Rachel May, who was in Auburn for a ceremonial swearing in.
