Auburn Nuisance Ordinance Amendment Affecting Pot Shops Passes After Lively Public Hearing

SHARE NOW

Auburn has passed the amendment to its nuisance ordinance spelling trouble for unlicensed pot shops at Thursday evening’s city council meeting, but not without some controversy.

That was Auburn Mayor Michael Quill.

During the public hearing portion of the meeting, David Tulley, owner of I’m Stuck Cannabis Dispensary made the following comment:

Tully was escorted out of council chambers by Police Chief Michael Slayton.

Before the comment which warranted his removal, Tulley pledged 50-thousand dollars in cash to the city for recreation purposes.

After the public hearing, council voted to pass the amendment allowing any business that needs state licensure, such as a pot shop or liquor store, but doesn’t have it, to be eligible to be declared a nuisance by the city’s Nuisance Abatement Committee.
