Auburn Holding Public Hearings on Funding Applications to Revitalize 2 Vacant Properties

Two public hearings have been scheduled on whether or not the City of Auburn should apply for state funding to assist with redeveloping two vacant properties within the city.

The City intends to apply to Empire State Development for funding through the Restore NY Communities Initative to assist in revitalizing the old Alco/Bombardier property on Orchard Street and 120 Genesee Street, the former Chemung Canal Trust Company site.

The city is seeking 10-million and 2-million dollars respectively for each site.

The public hearings will be held this upcoming Thursday at 5:00p at City Council’s regular scheduled meeting at City Hall.
