Auburn firefighters battled a house fire in the city Tuesday morning.
Just after 9:00a, a fire platoon responded to the Cayuga Street home where smoke was found coming out of the first and second floors.
A search of the house found no residents inside. The crew had difficulty finding the source of the blaze and were eventually forced out of the home due to the heat of the fire.
An additional platoon was called in and the fire was declared under control just after 10:00a.
The fire’s cause is currently under investigation and the Red Cross was able to provide temporary living arrangements for the residents.
