Testimony could start later today in Cayuga County Court in the trial of an Auburn woman accused of killing a Syracuse man outside a city bar last year.
28-year-old Shameek Copes is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for her role in the March 15th shooting death of 37-year-old John Wesley Smith in front of Swifty’s Tavern.
The Citizen reports 10 jurors were selected yesterday. Jury selection will get underway again this morning.
Copes is facing 25 years to life in state prison for the murder charge.
