A Steuben County man could face up to a decade in prison and a quarter-of-a-million dollar fine after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court to possessing child pornography including images of a minor girl.
59-year-old John Buckley, of Wayland, is accused of taking sexually explicit photos of the girl between August and December of 2021. In August of last year, the FBI executed a federal search warrant on the cellphone and recovered 31 pictures containing child pornography.
Buckley’s plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia. Additional assistance was provided by the FBI Chicago Field Office and the Joliet, Illinois Police Department.
Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date before Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Wolford.
