    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Actual air temperature will be below zero each night through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst. Daytime high temperatures will climb above zero with afternoon highs of 5 to 15 degrees above zero.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Schuyler County Law Enforcement Hands Out Gift Cards in Watkins Glen

You might have gotten a surprise if you visited Dunkin Donuts in Watkins Glen Tuesday morning and it likely put you in the Christmas spirit!

According to a post on its Facebook page, the Watkins Glen Police Benevolent Association, along with a donation by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, allowed the law enforcement agencies to purchase 100 gift cards for $5 each from Dunkin Donuts in Watkins Glen. Officers from both agencies then stood inside and outside to hand them out to the first 100 people who came to Dunkin Donuts Tuesday morning.

The post added, “It was a wonderful time this morning making so many residents smile during the holiday season!”
