There will be no time behind bars for the former Yates County Legislator and businessman who admitted in Yates County Court to a felony charge of sexual abuse.
Instead, Jack Clancy received 10 years of probation and will have to register as a sex offender. The 81-year-old was arrested back in August on a felony charge of attempted sexual abuse after it was alleged he subjected another person to sexual contact while they were sleeping. Clancy admitted to the charge in October.
District Attorney Todd Casella was seeking a sentence of six months in prison and 10 years of probation for Clancy. A hearing will be held in March to determine the level of offender status.
