One area city has been named one of the top small towns for culture.

Corning has placed seventh on USA Today’s Best Small Town Cultural Scene list for 2024.

Both the Rockwell Museum with its art collection and the Corning Museum of Glass with its over 500,000 items were cited as major contributing factors to the city’s cultural scene. Corning’s Gaffer District was also mentioned as “a hub of artistic expression.”

Nominees are submitted by a panel of experts with a final set of nominees being voted on by the public.

Corning was the only location in New York State to make the list.
