Cayuga, Tompkins Fire Depts. Called to Battle Wednesday House Fire

SHARE NOW

Three Cayuga County fire departments helped battle a Wednesday night house fire in Tompkins County.

Lansing Fire Department Inc. received the call just before 10:00p for the reported blaze on Lansingville Rd near the intersection with Dublin Rd.

The King Ferry and Genoa Volunteer Fire Departments both sent a tanker and men to help battle the fire at the one-story building. Additional assistance was later requested from Locke Fire & Rescue and Neptune House Co #1 from Dryden.

Hampered by rough weather, a live power line falling in the driveway, and a heavy fire, it took crews approximately 90 minutes to knock down the main body of the fire with crews remaining on the scene for an additional two hours.

In total, about 35 firefighters, four engines, seven tankers, and two heavy rescue units responded.

No injuries were reported.

Bangs Ambulance was also on the scene.
