An accident involving a tractor-trailer late Friday morning on State Route 364 at State Route 245 in the town of Middlesex slowed traffic down to just one lane in the area until the early evening.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, the tractor-trailer had left the road and struck a tree, which caused the tree to fall onto a home at 1177 State Route 245. No one inside of the home was injured. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 44-year-old Yacouba Sangare from the Bronx, was taken to the hospital by Middlesex Ambulance for a checkover.
The tractor-trailer was reportedly hauling 14,000 pounds of materials when the accident happened.
The driver was issued tickets for speeding, having an unsafe tire, disobeying a traffic control device, unsafe lane change and not having a log book. Sangare will appear in Middlesex Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
