A Vestal man was killed early Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash in Tioga County.

According to New York State Police, troopers were dispatched at approximately 4 a.m. to the intersection of State Route 434 and Forest Hill Road in the Town of Owego for a reported crash with injuries.

Investigators said a 2012 Ducati motorcycle operated by 39-year-old Warren Loza of Vestal collided with an SUV at the intersection.

Troopers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but Loza was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation determined that the SUV was traveling on Forest Hill Road and entered the intersection with Route 434. Police said the SUV driver did not see the motorcycle traveling on Route 434, causing the motorcycle to strike the side of the vehicle.

The SUV driver is cooperating with investigators and was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for evaluation and treatment.

State Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
