A Sherburne man has been charged following a New York State Police investigation into allegations that teenage employees at a local pizzeria were subjected to unwanted sexual contact.
State Police say 36-year-old Salvatore E. Magro was arrested Tuesday by investigators with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Sidney following an investigation into reports involving underage victims.
According to investigators, Magro engaged in a pattern of inappropriate sexual contact with multiple teenage victims over the past two years. Police allege the incidents involved unwanted touching and occurred while the victims were employed at Joe and Vinny’s Pizzeria on North Main Street in the Village of Sherburne.
Magro was taken into custody outside the pizzeria on June 2 and charged with three counts of forcible touching, four counts of sexual misconduct, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
After being processed at State Police in Norwich, Magro was transported to the Chenango County Jail for centralized arraignment. Authorities said orders of protection were issued for the victims, directing Magro to have no contact with them.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information or who believes they may have been a victim of similar conduct involving Magro is encouraged to contact the New York State Police at 607-561-7400 and reference case number NY2600680734.
