Voters in both the Odessa-Montour and Prattsburgh school districts approved revised budget proposals Tuesday after initially rejecting spending plans during the regular school budget vote last month.

In the Odessa-Montour Central School District, voters approved a revised 2026-27 budget by a 279-91 margin. The new spending plan includes a 6.2% tax levy increase, significantly lower than the nearly 13% increase contained in the original proposal that voters rejected in May.

Because the revised budget exceeded the district’s state-imposed tax levy limit, it required approval by a supermajority of voters to pass.

Voters in the Prattsburgh Central School District also approved a revised budget proposal. The measure passed by a vote of 496 to 279.

The district’s original $12.2 million budget proposal was rejected last month and included a 40.6% tax levy increase, or approximately $1.09 million more than the current year’s levy.

Following the failed vote, district officials revised the proposal after receiving additional state aid. The increase in funding allowed the district to reduce the proposed tax levy increase to 37.4%.

Like Odessa-Montour’s plan, the revised Prattsburgh budget exceeded the district’s tax cap and required a supermajority vote for approval.

The approvals allow both districts to move forward with their spending plans for the 2026-27 school year.
