Cayuga Centers plans to eliminate more than 300 jobs across New York, including positions at its headquarters in Auburn, following significant financial losses tied to leadership misconduct.

The Citizen reports that, according to a notice filed with the New York State Department of Labor under the Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, the agency will cut 319 jobs in New York County. The filing, posted last Tuesday, also indicates the closure of its East Harlem facility, which houses unaccompanied migrant children and operates with federal grant funding.

In addition to the New York City layoffs, Cayuga Centers reported plans to eliminate 14 positions at its headquarters on Hamilton Avenue in Auburn, along with one job each at offices in Albany and Utica.

In total, 335 positions are expected to be cut, with the layoffs scheduled to take effect on June 30.

The workforce reductions come after the organization reported losing more than $20 million due to financial mismanagement and misconduct by its leadership.
