A child and a woman from Yates County were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after the car they were in crashed into a tree in the town of Geneva late Saturday night.
According to authorities, the driver swerved to miss a deer on Snell Road and did not see the stop sign at the intersection with White Spring Road. The car continued south before hitting the tree. 40-year-old Princess Anthony, of Branchport, was taken to Rochester by Marcellus Mercy Flight for lower leg and pelvic fractures. The oldest of the three children in the car, who were all under the age of 14, was airlifted by LifeNet for lower body and abdomen pain.
44-year-old Patrick Brown, of Branchport, and another child, were taken to the same hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance, for checkovers.
The driver of the car, who was not identified by police, was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
