Woman Killed in Ontario County Accident

SHARE NOW

An 84-year-old woman from Brooklyn was killed in a two-car accident early Sunday morning in Ontario County.

Gladys Villorente was the backseat passenger in a Honda Accord that was traveling north on State Route 96 in the area of Rowley Road when its driver crossed over into the southbound lane and struck a Mitsubishi Outlander head-on just after midnight. Villorente was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Honda, 82-year-old Henry Lopez and another passenger, 64-year-old Daphne Lopez, both of Brooklyn, were also taken to Rochester for chest pain and fractures. The driver of the Outlander, 36-year-old Kasey Wesley, of Canandaigua, was checked over the scene and released.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office ticketed Lopez for failure to keep right. The accident remains under investigation but speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor.
