A Rochester woman is charged with assault after she allegedly punched Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies during a traffic stop on State Route 332 in Farmington.
Marjerlie Espada-Rodriguez was stopped for allegedly driving a car with no front license plate and a cracked windshield. During the traffic stop, she became physically combative with deputies, and punching them. As a result, the deputies suffered minor injuries.
Espada-Rodriguez was charged with assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. The 22-year-old was sent to Ontario County Jail following her arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
