A vigil and protest are planned for this weekend outside Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s Canandaigua Office.

The event, organized by the Finger Lakes Makers Collective, People’s Action, We Dissent, 5 & 20 Alliance, Veterans For Peace, FLX Rapid Response, Hemlock Rising, is scheduled from 4:00-5:30p on Sunday outside Tenney’s office at 2375 Rochester Road.

Organizers said the event will be a peaceful protest against “the violent tactics employed by the Department of Homeland Security, ICE, Customs and Border Patrol, and other federal agencies.”

The protest will include a candlelight vigil, the reading of a list of names, and a die-in. Organizers added that “representations of gravestones and candles will be used to individually recognize the lives lost through the tactics embraced by Rep. Tenney and the Trump administration.”

For those wishing to attend the event, organizers added that parking is available on Kepner and Aroline Roads. Parking in the plaza is restricted, and cars may be towed.
