Two Wayne County women face charges following an incident Tuesday.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies say 40-year-old Amy Stephens of Sodus, and 58-year-old Denise Bardin, of Wolcott, (booking photo not released) were being disruptive and refused to leave the Sodus Intermediate School. When a school resource officer told them to leave the campus, they became combative, struck the officer and resisted arrest.
The school resource officer and a school staff member sustained minor injuries.
Stephens was charged with assault, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal trespass. She was taken to the Wayne County Jail for an arraignment.
Bardin was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal trespass, obstructing governmental administration and harassment. She was released on appearance tickets and is to appear later in Sodus Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
