Wayne County Undersheriff Tammy Ryndock was recently recognized as the Newark American Legion August Mauer Post #286 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. She was presented the award, which is a symbol of appreciation for those who contribute to not only their profession but to the greater good of society, by Commander Stephen Johnson.
Undersheriff Ryndock was nominated by a local Veteran for her 25 years of outstanding contributions to public service. She has worn many hats in her career at the Sheriff’s Office while serving the community she loves. Since taking an administrative role as the first female Undersheriff in 2022, her efforts have never changed.
As part of Undersheriff Ryndock’s commitment to the protection of children, she serves as an Advisory Board member on the Wayne County Child Advocacy Center and the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes. She is also a member of the Citizens Implementation Committee for the Town of Lyons, which explores various ways to improve the community.
