A Wayne County man is charged with robbing a business in the city of Ithaca Thursday morning.
Police responded to the 200 block of South Cayuga Street after it was reported a man threatened the use of an unknown weapon after he allegedly passed a note to an employee demanding money from the cash register. A suspect matching the description of the perpetrator was found a short time later near the east end of the Commons and taken into custody without incident.
40-year-old Marcus Beane of Sodus was sent to Tompkins County Jail following his arraignment.
Police say the money taken during the robbery was recovered.
