Waterloo Superintendent Finalist for Job in Dansville

SHARE NOW

Embattled Waterloo School Superintendent Terri Bavis is a finalist for the Superintendent’s job in the Dansville School District.

According to the Livingston County News, Bavis and Dansville Deputy Superintendent Thomas Frazier are the finalists for the job.

Bavis has been the superintendent in Waterloo since 2016.  She recently has come under fire for the recent budget defeat in Waterloo.  The budget was defeated twice by a total of 9 votes, Waterloo is now operating on a contingency budget.

In June the school board was scheduled to vote on a contract extension for Bavis, but the resolution to approve the agreement was pulled at the last minute before the board’s meeting.  School officials would not say why they did not act on the contract.

Dansville is a slightly smaller district compared to Waterloo.  Dansville as 1,379 student and a staff of 270, while Waterloo has 1,500 students and 375 staff members. Both Bavis and Frazier will visit the district and meet with schools’ stakeholders next week.

The new superintendent will start the job in January.
