State Police have released the names of the drivers involved in a fatal two-car accident on Route 14 in Starkey earlier this week.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Chevy Equinox driven by 34-year-old Willie Smallwood, of Geneva, was headed south at around 4 Wednesday afternoon when it struck a northbound GMC Sierra driven by 22-year-old Melina Everetts, of Himrod. Smallwood was pronounced dead at the scene. Everetts was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight and is listed in stable condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
