Two Ontario County men face charges of animal abandonment after their arrest on Monday.
On August 1st, the Ontario County Humane Society received complaints that the tenants at an apartment in Clifton Springs had not been at the residence for at least two weeks and had left a dog and two cats. The approximate 3-year-old female Terrier and two domestic shorthair cats were removed by the Humane Society and brought to the Happy Tails Animal Shelter for medical treatment.
The tenants, 65-year-old Richard Smith and 46-year-old Davis Isaac were found at the Manchester Inn on Monday and arrested.
Both were issued tickets for Village of Clifton Springs Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
