Three-Vehicle Collision Blocks West Main Street in Clifton Springs

SHARE NOW

A three-vehicle crash closed a portion of West Main Street in the Village of Clifton Springs for about an hour Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say the crash happened Jan. 29 between Silver Street and Foster Avenue. A Suburban driven by 20-year-old Juan Story of Shortsville was traveling eastbound when it struck a parked four-door sedan owned by 63-year-old Lauranne McPherson of Clifton Springs.

The impact pushed McPherson’s vehicle into a second parked Suburban owned by 34-year-old Kelly Quinn of Clifton Springs. Deputies said both parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The collision caused substantial damage, leaving debris scattered across the roadway and blocking both lanes of travel. Law enforcement closed West Main Street between Silver Street and Foster Avenue to prevent further accidents and preserve the scene. The road reopened about an hour later without incident.

Story was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance and treated for minor injuries. He was cited for a speed violation.

Clifton Springs Fire assisted at the scene, and Lannon’s Garage handled towing.
