A 17-year-old from Canandaigua was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a one-car accident in Hopewell Monday morning.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies report the incident happened at around 11:45a in the 2800 block of County Road 10.
The teen who was not named by law enforcement was driving southbound when she slowed down to turn into a driveway. A vehicle travelling south behind her honked their horn, causing the juvenile to drive off the west side of the road and through a ditch before hitting a tree and coming to a stop.
The teen was taken to FF Thompson Hospital by the Canandaigua Emergency Squad for minor back and chest injuries. The passenger, 40-year-old Tabitha Jesmer of Canandaigua, was uninjured.
The vehicle that honked its horn fled the scene and was not identified.
The teen’s vehicle sustained minor damage to its front right side and was driven from the scene. No citations were issued to the driver.
