A contracted peer advocate in Seneca County has been arrested by the Sheriff’s Department after he allegedly conspired with another person to purchase and sell crack cocaine.
The arrest of Robert Shields stems from an ongoing investigation into his alleged misconduct due to his professional role and other illegal activity. When Shields was taken into custody on Wednesday, he was allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine.
The 59-year-old was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and a single count of conspiracy and official misconduct.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
