The Seneca County Correctional Facility has successfully achieved reaccreditation from the New York State Sheriff’s Association, officials announced. The recognition reaffirms the facility’s commitment to high standards of safety, professionalism, and accountability.
The reaccreditation process evaluates all aspects of facility operations, including inmate care, security protocols, staff training, and compliance with state minimum standards. Only a select group of New York facilities consistently meet these rigorous benchmarks.
Sheriff Timothy J. Thompson, Jr., praised his staff for their dedication. “This reaccreditation highlights the professionalism of our corrections staff,” he said. “Their unwavering commitment ensures the safety of our community and the fair, ethical treatment of those in our care.”
The Sheriff’s Office says maintaining accreditation demonstrates its ongoing focus on transparency, public safety, and excellence in law enforcement and corrections.
