Terphane LLC is shutting down its Bloomfield facility in Ontario County, resulting in 49 layoffs.

The Rochester Business Journal reports that a state labor filing shows the closure will begin June 30 and be completed by October 31. The company cited business relocation as the reason for the shutdown. The affected workers are not unionized.

Founded in 1976, Terphane manufactures flexible packaging for food, cleaning, and personal care products. Its Bloomfield site, which opened in 1988, employs 57 people.

The company was acquired in November 2024 by Peru-based Oben Group.
