Felony eavesdropping charges have been dropped against a suspended Ontario County Sheriff’s Corrections Officer.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the charges against Adam Broadwell were dismissed after a county grand jury failed to indict him. Broadwell, a 20-year corrections officer with the county, was accused of using a listening device inside of the county courthouse to listen in on conversations he was not a part of. It was alleged the 44-year-old Broadwell, who was assigned to the courthouse, specifically used earbuds capable of amplifying sound to listen to conversations among jurors behind closed doors.
Since his arrest back in March, Broadwell has been suspended without pay.
