A Canandaigua man has been arrested for allegedly giving a five-year-old child an alcoholic beverage at a location on South Main Street.
An investigation determined that 28-year-old Trevor John was allegedly in a highly intoxicated state while caring for the child. When he was told he was being arrested, John was accused of attempting to flee but was apprehended. It’s also alleged that John headbutted a police car and kicked the rear window, causing damage.
John was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
