An Ontario County man is going to prison after being convicted of producing child pornography and methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Snapchat reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in July 2019 that a subscriber uploaded two files of suspected child pornography to its app. An investigation determined the subscriber was 33-year-old Timothy Wright.
State police executed a search warrant at Wright’s Phelps residence on May 18, 2020, where electronic devices were found to contain 8,462 images and videos of child pornography, including some of him sexually abusing a minor.
On July 29, 2020, Wright provided his wife and co-defendant, Alicia Wright, with meth. She then sold it to an undercover cop.
After obtaining a warrant, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office found roughly 64 grams of the drug, a digital scale, and approximately $10,000 dollars in cash.
Wright was sentenced to 20 years in prison by US District Judge Frank Geraci, Jr.
