A lengthy investigation into the sale of cocaine in Ontario County resulted in a search warrant being executed at a residence in Stanley that was followed by an arrest.
During the execution of the warrant on State Route 245, investigators allegedly found cocaine packaged for sale, as well as a semi-automatic rifle, which is classified as an assault weapon in New York. 42-year-old Jeffrey Holtby was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Holtby was sent to Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail following arraignment.
The charges will be answered in the Seneca Town Court at a later date.
Geneva Police Department assisted the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation as well.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
