The Ontario County Republican Committee has endorsed seven candidates running for office.

In Congress, Representative Claudia Tenney has the support of Ontario County Republicans. She has been challenged by Geneva’s Mario Fratto and Auburn’s Dr Phillip Gioia, hoping to gain their party’s support in the primary election.

State Senator Pam Helming has been selected by the party in her reelection bid. She faces off against Democrat Scott Comegys to represent New York’s 54th State Senate District.

Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan is the final incumbent so far to receive the committee’s endorsement.  He is seeking reelection in New York’s 131st Assembly District.

“Our incumbents have been representing their constituents well for several years and deserve our support,” said Trisha Turner, Chairwoman of the Ontario County Republican Committee. “We also strongly believe that our first-time candidates will quickly prove their value to the people they serve.”

Chairwoman Trisha Turner said, “Our committee is proud to support and endorse this great group of candidates.  We are confident they will do an outstanding job representing and serving the residents of Ontario County.”

Judge Stacey Romeo and Ed White have been given the party’s nod in their bids to gain a seat in the State Supreme Court’s 7th District. Romeo is the supervising judge for the 7th Judicial District Family Court. She also has been on the Monroe County Family Court since 2017 and sits as an Acting NYS Supreme Court Justice and Monroe County Youth Part Judge. White has 28 years of experience as an attorney.

The Republican Committee also gave its support to Andrea Bailey, who is running in the 133rd Assembly District. Currently the Livingston County Clerk, Bailey has been endorsed by Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes, who is retiring.

The committee has backed Jeff Trickler for county treasurer. The former Geneva police chief has served as Deputy Treasurer since May 2022. He has also been endorsed by retiring treasurer, Gary Baxter.
