One local sheriff’s department’s 911 Center has joined just twelve other emergency communication centers statewide in achieving Re-Accreditation.
Peter Kehoe from the New York State Sheriffs’ Association presented Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione and the Sheriff’s Office with a plaque honoring the achievement at this month’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
The Re-Accreditation was awarded after an intensive three-day on-site review of the 911 Center’s policies, procedures, and live operations. The distinction means the 911 Center meets or exceeds all standards of professionalism set by New York State for Public Safety Answering Points.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Sheriff’s Office wrote, ” Thank you to Chief DeChick and our entire dedicated staff who work diligently 24 hours a day to rapidly assess the needs of those who call or text us in need of help.
