A Newark man faces several years in prison after an Ontario County jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a child with a developmental disability.
Daniel Croll was convicted last Wednesday of first-degree course of sexual conduct, a Class D felony, the Ontario County District Attorney’s office announced. Authorities say the conviction stems from a 2023 investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, which found Croll repeatedly abused a child under 11 over five years. He was taken into custody following the verdict and is scheduled for sentencing on October 16 before Judge Victoria Argento in state Supreme Court.
Croll is already a registered sex offender from a 2021 Monroe County conviction for attempted criminal sexual act against an individual with diminished mental capacity in a children’s residential center.
