A Newark man is facing charges after allegedly being found with narcotics and a handgun.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed on November 15 at Kevin Hobbs’ residence on Blue Cut Road in the Village of Newark. The search turned up over two ounces of cocaine and a stolen 9mm handgun.
The 47-year-old was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, all felonies.
Assisting the sheriff’s office with its investigation were the Newark Police Department, Geneva Police Department, and Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
