One man had to be taken to Upstate Memorial Hospital following a semi truck vs farm tractor crash in Ontario County Tuesday morning.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s office, the incident occurred at approximately 6:45a. near the intersection of County Road 5 and Leet Rd in Stanley, when 43-year-old Ryan Szalay of Rochester attempted to pass the tractor driven by 41-year-old Elias Ortiz-Diaz of Stanley while it was making a left-hand turn. The semi truck struck the tractor, causing the semi truck and trailer to overturn on the driver’s side.
Szalay was taken via ambulance to Upstate after suffering a significant injury to his left arm. He was also cited for unsafe passing and is set to answer the charge against him at a later date in Senece Town Court.
The roadway was closed for several hours due to the incident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
